Tips for the ladies in year 2008

school parking lot today. The field was all set up for fun and fitness day. I lathered them up with sunscreen and gave them a bottle of water. I hope it's not too chilly because they insisted on wearing shorts. Yesterday is was hot and humid here but I don't think it's supposed to go over 67F today and it was in the 50's when I dropped them off at school. Either way I hope they have a wonderful day of playing outside with the entire school. I bet it's a zoo there right now with a bunch of hyper kids running around and playing their games. I know they will come home with a ribbon since I think they give them out to all the kids who participate.

I finished my antibiotic yesterday. I still have the UTI and I tried to call my Dr (which if you could see me right now I'm rolling my eyes about that fact) and of course I get their answering service that tells me to call back another time. It wouldn't tick me off so much IF they were off on an off day but they are supposed to have their glorious administrative hours from 9 am to 11:45 am. So what you say? Well, their admin hours are the ONLY time you can call for an appointment or questions about bills and so on. The rest of the time the are open but don't take calls from patients since it's not admin hours. Well IT IS AFTER 9 am! An hour past in fact. And they still aren't answering their phone when they are supposed to.
I would't worry too much if it was a cold or a sinus infection but darn it! I don't want this infection to spread to my kidney. I'm getting so paranoid. I can't be hospitalized while hubby is away on travel for work. He won't be back for 2 more weeks and that will be for one day to get whatever he needs from his office and to have his clothes washed so he can repack and go back to the NASA base in VA. So here I sit in my WTF moment. I'd bang my head against a wall but that would probably give me a bad headache.

The count down is on. Only nine more days left of school. The boys would like to be out now. For some reason school has been tiring this year.

I'm still in my jammies and I've been laying on the couch just watching the kids play. Boy they are loud too! No way I could sneak a nap in with all that noise. The antibiotics aren't treating me very well either. I feel so sick I haven't eaten since lunch time yesterday. I don't think I could. Maybe a nice cup of tea would help.

So I tried calling the Dr's office all morning. They have very limited administrative hours in which you can call in and talk to the office manager, who is the Dr's husband. Anyway I kept getting a message every time I dialed that the phone was not in service try again later. It was past the admin hours by the time I had to leave and get kiddo #2 from school. So I decided I would drive over to the Dr's office and see if they packed up and moved or something. Nevermind the fact it's in Delaware and with the price of gas now
The office was dark when I drove up but I could see patients sitting in the waiting room. So I go in and ask if I could get an appointment or at the very least have the Dr call in something since I am prone to kidney problems. He tells me to sign in and have a seat.
I read one three page pop up book (Rapunzel) and he calls me back. So for an hour and a half I sit in a tiny room with two kids who are bored, hungry, tired, thirsty, have to pee and so on. She finally comes in pokes my abdomen, karate chops my kidney area and asks me to pee in a cup. Three minutes later she's writing me a script for meds because there was bacteria in the urine.
I rushed to the pharmacy to drop off the script so we could get home and eat lunch (after 2 pm by then!). So when I go to get kiddo #1 from school I'll pick up my meds. I hope the bacteria isn't resistant to it. Last year I had my very first UTI ever and the bacteria was resistant and I ended up with a severe kidney infection and a very not so fun stay in the hospital for 4 and 1/2 days. And boy was that expensive even with health insurance! My money for my new living room furniture went to the medical bills. And we're still sitting on a sofa that is falling apart. Oh well, maybe after we move I can get new furniture.

well I'm still working on it. I need to decorate a little better...BUT I got tired of feeling cramped in our kitchen when we were eating so I moved our table to the "formal living room" (which we rarely use except for kids tossing toys about) and turned it into a dining room. I made a small sitting area in the kitchen where the table used to be. It's actually rather nice to sit there. Lots of light coming in the sliding doors, the birds singing, the neighbor's cat sitting in my deck chair putting hair all over it. Good thing she's a sweatheart or I'd run her off because she wants in so bad. Only we're really allerigic to cats.
I need to get a rug to put under the table now, the room has that echo feeling to it. I need some sort of plants or small trees in there too, it looks kind of naked but it's really nice to feel like you have elbow room to sit down. Now to just get hubby to remove the TV from the room. The kids already have enough distrations when we eat they don't need TV added to that. One actually got up and turned it on when I went to the kitchen. Little stinkers! I turned it off and put on some music instead. They get too much screen time as it is. A meal without TV on isn't going to kill them.
Well off to rearrange my kitchen some more now that I have room to do more in there!

I have one whopper of a headache. It's not a migraine but at this rate it could progress to that. Please oh please let the asprin I took take some of the pain away because I have to drive in a couple of hours. At least it's not raining but gosh the beautiful sun is hard on the headache.

Lots of rain (flood warnings) and wind. I'm waiting for the 3 LARGE dead trees in the forest next to the house to fall on the house or the little garages. They look like they are doing some kind of dance with all the wind. At least we're at the top of a hill so we won't get any of the flooding that some of the other people in the area are. At least it's not big tornados like on the news. So many people with houses gone and several people killed. Mother Nature sure can be hurtful at times.
